EDEX Careers renews partnership with the Career Guidance Academy in delivering career counselling to EXPO participants

EDEX Careers has renewed its strategic partnership with the Career Guidance Academy headed by Mr. Ajith Jayawardana in delivering the valued service to the stakeholders of EDEX . Every year more than 8000 EXPO visitors, mostly belonging to the age group of 18-25, benefit from the psychometric testing based one-on-one career counselling carried out by over 100 professional career counsellors who are members of the Academy. They are attached to different educational and commercial establishments from around the island and partner with EDEX Careers in this voluntary exercise to help bring a positive impact on the lives of the youth of Sri Lanka. This collaboration has provided career counselling to over 40,000 young Sri Lankans over the last 7 years.

The psychometric test administered by EDEX Careers is popularly known as “The Career Key”.It was developed by Lawrence K Jones Ph.D, NCC (an American counselling psychologist, career assessment developer, and writer of international standing), re-formulated by Dr. Keerthi Premadasa and Mr. Ajith Jayawardana to relate to local careers.

The ‘Career Key’ measures the candidate’s inherent personality traits and interests, and identifies a set of career streams that would best fit the person both from an ability to succeed as well as from a job satisfaction perspective.
