EDEX Sithuwam Celebrates 10 Years

EDEX Sithuwam has become the largest platform for school-going children to share one voice in art, proudly celebrating 10 years of championing Art and artistic skills of students from around Sri Lanka.

This year, the drawings of thousands of schools children adorned the walls of the MAS Arena, creating a canopy of colour and beauty.

In as much as the children’s entries created a riot of colour for weeks on weeks, during the competition, at EDEX, the organisers in turn anticipated each entry, that came flooding in from every nook and cranny. Our hearts leapt with joy at the beauty, creativity and passion captured in each drawing.

The Organisers are proud that so many young school going children took time off to indulge in their love of art, away from technology, and their main school work, to share their inherent talents.

Each drawing is symbolic of each artist’s talent, skill and ingenuity in representing and relating to the world around them.

The use of colour, blended in many themes with realty and imagination, and inter-twined hopes, dreams and aspirations. Some artists expressed happiness, exuberance, joy, sadness, and these thoughts and emotions have become catalyst in portraying the artist’s inner being.

The Judges were impressed the interpretations of nature, school, life and the vision each entry seemed to portray. Each exhibit told a story and took us on a journey of adventure.

We thank the all the Art teachers, parents, and our sponsors Lankem Robbailac for supporting the artistic pursuits of these youngsters for the fourth consecutive year, and aligning themselves to the vision of EDEX.

Each student who participated is a winner. An artist. A dream-weaver. Your magical talents have touched our hearts, and will continue to do so next year!
