EDEX Expo 2015 was declared open by H.E. President Maithripala Sirisena



EDEX Expo 2015 held for the 12th consecutive year in January 2015 at BMICH Colombo and Kandy City Centre, Kandy, was a resounding success. The Expo was endorsed by the Presidential Secretariat, key line ministries, International Labour Organization (ILO), Ceylon Chamber of Commerce (CCC) and the Employers’ Federation of Ceylon (EFC).
 
It was a momentous occasion for EDEX as the President of Sri Lanka, his Excellency Maithripala Sirisena declared open the EDEX Expo, as his first public event after assuming office. 
 
EDEX Expo 2015 offered 361 stalls which were patronised by 170 local and foreign higher education, vocational training and skills development institutes, including 20 foreign universities. The three day event in Colombo and the two days thereafter in Kandy, attracted over 67,000 visitors fulfilling expectations of both a multitude of exhibitors and visitors." 

"The 3rd Job Fair was held at Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH) in January 2015 concurrently with the EDEX Expo. Over 2,500 jobs were on offer in over 100 job categories both local and foreign. Dialog Axiata partnered as the main sponsor.
 
Career Guidance Seminars and a personalised career counselling sessions based on psychometric testing were held as an integral part of the Job Fair. This value-added service was provided to enable discerning youth to get an insight in to the choices of career paths that would be most aligned with their intrinsic talents. Over 6,000 youth including undergraduates made use of this facility.
